WSU Research Study for New Acne Treatment Looking for Volunteers Ages 12 and Up

Dayton, Ohio-Dayton area residents may participate in an important clinical research study that will investigate and evaluate a topical medication for treating acne. The Division of Dermatology at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine is one of a group of sites from around the nation taking part in the study with the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of an investigational topical treatment for acne.

Participation in this research study, led by Michael P. Heffernan, M.D., chief of Division of Dermatology, will involve office visits over a period of 12 weeks.

Who is eligible to volunteer? People age 12 or older who are in good health and currently have acne on their face may be eligible. Volunteers will receive free study-related examinations, and will be given a gel-based study-related medication to apply to their face. Participants will also receive reimbursement for time and travel to our Elizabeth Place-based facility.
