Dayton, Ohio-Albert F. Painter, Jr., Psy.D., has been appointed assistant dean for faculty affairs at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, effective May 1, 2007.
Painter, an associate professor of family medicine at Wright State, is director of medical education at Good Samaritan Hospital. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He served an internship in clinical psychology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and holds a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology. He has been a member of Wright State's faculty since 1978 and is a licensed clinical psychologist.
Painter is founding executive director of the Dayton Area Graduate Medical Education Consortium (DAGMEC), a unique collaborative program for approximately 400 physicians in residency training programs in our community. He serves as the Dayton representative to the Ohio Council of Teaching Hospitals, has served on the Leadership Council for the Association for Hospital Medical Education, and is the course director for the Premier Health Partners' Physician Leadership Series.
