Local media are invited to attend the official ribbon cutting ceremony and guided tours for the completed addition of White Hall at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22.
This ceremony recognizes the completion of Phase I, an addition of 18,000-square-feet, which includes a state-of-the-art anatomy teaching laboratory, new lecture hall, and classroom and office space. Easily viewed from Colonel Glenn Highway, the new addition provides a striking architectural focal point for the Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Long-term supporters of the school, including the Boonshoft family, have invested in the addition. A new 150-seat lecture hall will be named after Drs. Saroj and Ramesh Gandhi and family. The anatomy learning center, for health professions students and local resident physicians, will be named after Dr. William A. Bernie. A classroom and laboratory will be named after Herbert C. and Marion Morris.
Phase II, which will include a complete renovation of the existing 59,000-square-foot building formerly known as the Frederick A. White Health Center, begins in a few weeks.
