Match Results

On March 21, 2014, 102 members of the class of 2014 learned where they will enter residency. Wright State students matched in outstanding programs in 19 different medical specialties, ranging from anesthesiology, family medicine and pathology, to physical medicine and rehabilitation, otolaryngology and radiology. Wright State students matched in outstanding programs in Dayton, throughout Ohio, and across the country, including the Cleveland Clinic, University of California at San Francisco, Duke University, the Mayo Clinic, University of Pennsylvania and New York Presbyterian-Columbia.

Almost half (45 percent) of the Wright State graduates will remain in Ohio during residency, and 20.3 percent will remain in the Dayton area. Close to half (48 percent) will enter a primary care field (Family Medicine: 8.8 percent; Internal Medicine: 14.7 percent; Internal Medicine/Pediatrics: 1 percent; Internal Medicine-Psychiatry: 1 percent; Pediatrics: 22.5 percent). The rest matched in 14 other specialties: Anesthesiology: 2.9 percent; Dermatology: 2.9 percent; Emergency Medicine: 6.9 percent; Neurology: 1.9 percent; Obstetrics and Gynecology: 3.9 percent; Ophthalmology: 2.9 percent; Orthopaedic Surgery: 3.9 percent; Otolaryngology: 2.9 percent; Pathology: 2.0 percent; Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: 4.9 percent; Plastic Surgery: 1.0 percent; Psychiatry: 2.9 percent; Radiology: 3.9 percent; and Surgery: 8.8 percent.
