Marketing and Communications

The Marketing & Communications Office provides a wide range of services for the Boonshoft School of Medicine, including:

Media Relations

Vital Signs coversWe act as the principal liaison between the medical school and the news media and coordinate efforts with the university Office of Communications and Marketing. Positive media coverage reflects well upon the school's endeavors in teaching, patient care and research. In addition to documenting the school's media coverage, the office connects subject experts to media inquiries. If you are contacted by the news media, please contact us. We can examine potential problem areas, help you prepare for an interview, leverage the story and serve as media contact. We also publicize school events through public service announcements, news releases, e-mail and web announcements. For media requests, please contact som_mc@wright.edu or call us at (937) 245-7610.

Communications Products

Publications such as Vital Signs promote progress and share information about the school. We maintain a database of story ideas to incorporate into university and school publications and local media outlets. Please share your ideas and stories with us. We are especially interested in research advances, human interest stories and your accomplishments.

The office can assist your communications efforts as well, helping to design newsletters, brochures and promotional materials for your office, department or event. We offer consultation for printing needs and have developed templates for postcards, brochures and flyers that meet university and school guidelines. Using templates can reduce your production time and cost. Contact us early in your planning process!

Electronic Communications & the Web

The office is responsible for content management of the school's website [medicine.wright.edu] and the Wright State Physicians web site [wrightstatephysicians.org] and offers web publishing for all school-affiliated offices and programs. The school's web policy and general guidelines are posted online. The web is a major recruiting tool for students, residents, faculty and staff, making up-to-date information and accessible graphic format strategically important to the school. We provide web design and production services, using school templates and images, that meet accessibility, branding and copyright guidelines. The office also produces and distributes department e-newsletters; medical student e-newsletters; ideos, podcasts and multimedia presentations. For web requests, please contact the web team at som_web@wright.edu .

Boonshoft SOM Brand Standards coverIdentity & Logo Standards

The Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Brand Guidelines (PDF) sets out identity standards for all school communications. A consistent identity is an important asset for any institution, and these guidelines are designed to help faculty, staff and students support that identity. Note: Logos in this document and on the web are low-resolution and not suitable for print. If you need a high-resolution version of the logo, please contact som_mc@wright.edu or call us at (937) 245-7610.

Scientific Presentation/Exhibit Boards

For conferences, meetings, or exhibits, the Boonshoft School of Medicine Office of Marketing and Communications lends out its display banners and carrying cases, suitable for shipping by air. The banners are 33.5" x 80" and collapse to a canvas carrying case that's 36" x 4". For table displays, we also have a large table cloth with the school logo. If you would like to reserve the banners or table cloth, contact som_mc@wright.edu or call us at (937) 245-7610. See: School of Medicine Products.

Photography

Photography and digital imaging services are available through the university's Marketing Office, which also maintains a databank of photographs. In addition, our office has historical and some current shots that can be used in printed pieces or on your web pages. Photos from many school events also are posted on Flickr.com.

Products

For gifts or fundraising, the office orders imprinted products specifically designed for the Boonshoft School of Medicine. Folders, mailing labels and other office products are available through Wright State's Printing & WrightCopy Services (PAWS). Other items may be purchased through Wright State's Bookstore or university vendors.
