How to Apply

We welcome applications from qualified candidates through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Below are the details and criteria for submitting your application and important information to consider before applying.


Application Information and Criteria for Selection

  • All applications must be submitted through ERAS.
  • Interviews: Scheduled by invitation only.
  • Residency Positions: Filled through the Match.

For International Medical Graduates (IMG):

  • Must have results from USMLE Steps 1, 2, and CS.
  • Candidates must be Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification-eligible to be considered for an interview.
  • ECFMG certification must be completed before the first day of residency.

Additional Requirements and Information

  • Smoke-Free Environment: Miami Valley Hospital is a smoke-free campus, including all parking garages.
  • Employee Health Examination: A complete history and physical examination, including lab work, drug screen, and TB testing, is required before beginning work.
  • Immunizations:
    • Hepatitis B: Verification of immunization required.
    • Flu Vaccine: Mandatory each fall.
    • COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof required for employment.
    • Tetanus, Rubella, and Rubeola: Immunization verification required.
  • Social Security Number: Required to show evidence of employability in the United States.
