DAYTON, OHIO--Wright State University medical students are holding a three-mile AIDS Walk/Run on April 9 to benefit the Nyumanbi AIDS orphanage in Kenya. The public is welcome to attend the event.
Registration the day of the event begins at 8:30 a.m., with an entry fee of $15.00 per person. The entry fee is $10.00 per person if you register before April 1. The walk/run starts at 10:00 a.m., at the Frederick A. White Health Center on Wright State's campus. Each entrant will receive a T-shirt, guaranteed to all who pre-register by April 1.
Nyumanbi means "Home" in Swahili. More than 92 HIV-positive, abandoned children have been taken out of the slums and streets in the neighboring city of Nairobi. With medical care, and a nurturing environment these children are given a chance for life in their new home.
