DAYTON, OHIO--DAYTON, OHIO-Andrew Jacques, Year IV medical student, received the People's
Andy Jacques Receives the Peoples Choice Award at Wright State University School of Medicine's fifth annual art exhibit, "The Healer as Artist." Jacques' collage titled, "Self-portrait," was a stunning example of his thoughtful creativity.
The second place award was, "Orchids," an oil painting by Carol Levine, M.D., assistant professor of internal medicine. Third place was awarded to James Olsen, M.D., for his photography titled, "Face Painter." The Founders' Award was presented to Andrew Jacques, for his poetry titled, "DNR."
Fifty-one entries were received from faculty, students, and staff. Mary White, Ph.D., associate professor of community health, and Judi Engle, director of public relations, were the co-directors for the event. "We were delighted to share the creativity and vision of our health care community and get to know each other better," states White.
The exhibit included art in several media: photography, sculpture, drawing, pottery, and painting. The People's Choice Awards were generously provided by McCallisters Art Supplies in Dayton.
