Tiffany Noel, M.D., PGY-2

Interests with plastic surgery: Microsurgery, breast reconstruction, general reconstruction
Hobbies/other interests: Working out, traveling, trying new restaurants (always down for a craft cocktail), taking long walks down the aisles of Home Goods and Target
Favorite thing about our program: Early operative experience and the people. All of the senior residents in the program have impacted my interest in plastics starting when I was a medical student (even getting me under the microscope then); their confidence in the operating room is a product of our program and inspires me everyday. That, and Dr. Johnson truly encourages us to strive to our fullest potential. Couldn't ask for a better program director.
Fun fact: I'm FIlipino and "half-lingual": I can understand Tagalog, but I can't speak it.
If you were a flap what would you be and why? Omental flap! It's versatile, adaptable, and has immunologic properties, which I'm personally drawn to because of my research background in immunology. It's also just super cool.

Fun fact: I won or went to the finals in my fantasy football league 4 out of the last 5 years.
If you were a flap what would you be and why? The latissimus dorsi flap. As a medical student, I was part of a case where we used a free innervated lat to reconstruct a degloved hand. This case is just one example of the versatility of this workhorse flap.

Elise Johnson, M.D., PGY-1

Hometown: Dayton, OH
Medical school: Ross University Medical School
Interests with plastic surgery: micro and craniofacial

Favorite thing about our program:  I wake up so excited every day I can hardly stand it. The attendings are amazing and we have incredible case diversity and volume. I love my coresidents and I feel so lucky to be able to help provide care to my city I love so much.   My very favorite thing about the program is getting to work with my dad though.
If you were a flap what would you be and why? I'm not sure what flap I would be, but I aspire to be a gracilis flap: diverse, unique and functional. Gracilis flap for facial reanimation in kids is one of the coolest things we can do in plastics.
