DAYTON, OHIO -- Wright State University School of Medicine has received a $376,000 bequest from the estate of Donald L. Ranville of Fairborn, who died in April 1996.
The bequest established the Ranville Fund at Wright State, an endowed scholarship fund that will benefit third- and fourth-year medical students at the School of Medicine. Three to four $5,000 scholarships will be awarded annually, the first awards to be made for the 1998-1999 academic year.
Mr. Ranville was employed by the Southwest Portland Cement Company in Fairborn. His cousin and her husband, Bertie Ranville Cannedy and Thurman Cannedy of Cadillac, Michigan, are executors of his estate.
