  • Objective 1.2a: Analyze and describe individual and population-level biospychosocial factors that influence health outcomes, using case-based or population-level data.
  • Objective 1.2b: Develop and justify intervention plans that account for complex biopsychosocial, cultural, and environmental factors.

Evidence, AI, and Emerging Technologies

  • Objective 1.3a: Search, appraise, and apply valid and reliable sources of clinically relevant information to patient care decisions.
  • Objective 1.3b: Interpret and incorporate uncertainties in evolving medical knowledge when formulating diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
  • Objective 1.3c: Demonstrate knowledge of the appropriate, evidence-based, and ethical use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients, integrating these tools with clinical judgment and patient-centered care.

Lifestyle and Preventative Medicine

  • Objective 1.4a: Apply principles of nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle interventions to prevent and manage chronic diseases and optimize health in individual patients and populations.

 

2. Clinical Reasoning and Patient Care

History and Physical Examination

  • Objective 2.1a: Perform comprehensive and focused history and physical examinations, distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings.

Diagnosis and Management

  • Objective 2.2a: Generate a prioritized differential diagnosis and propose appropriate diagnostic tests based on clinical findings and medical knowledge.
  • Objective 2.2b: Develop evidence-based health maintenance, diagnostic, and therapeutic plans that incorporate patient values, preferences, and engagement strategies.

Clinical Communication

  • Objective 2.3a: Deliver clear, concise, and logically organized oral presentations of patient history and clinical findings.
  • Objective 2.3b: Produce accurate, complete, and organized written documentation of patient history and clinical findings in the medical record.

 

3. Health Systems Science and Quality Improvement (Systems-Based Practice)

Healthcare Delivery and Policy

  • Objective 3.1a: Analyze the structure, function, and financing of healthcare delivery systems, including the legal, policy, and economic factors that influence patient access, cost, and quality of care.

Population and Contextual Factors

  • Objective 3.2a: Identify and analyze contextual and structural factors (e.g., social determinants of health, cultural influences, nutrition, systemic barriers) that affect the health of individuals and populations.
  • Objective 3.2b: Consistently demonstrate compassionate, respectful, and culturally responsive behaviors when interacting with diverse patients and families.

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

  • Objective 3.3a: Analyze the structure and functioning of healthcare delivery systems and apply principles of quality improvement and patient safety to address system-level and process-level factors that impact patient, community, and population health outcomes.

 

4. Interpersonal and Team-Based Communication

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Objective 4.1a: Demonstrate collaborative behaviors that foster shared values and mutual respect within interprofessional teams.
  • Objective 4.1b: Apply team science principles by adapting one's role and responsibilities appropriately across different team contexts.
  • Objective 4.1c: Accurately describe one's own role and the roles of other team members, and integrate this knowledge to improve patient and population health outcomes.

Communication Skills

  • Objective 4.2a: Consistently demonstrate clear, respectful, and compassionate communication with patients, families, and interprofessional team members.

 

5. Professionalism, Leadership, and Wellbeing

Ethics and Professional Conduct

  • Objective 5.1a: Consistently demonstrate ethical behavior in individual and team settings by upholding confidentiality, honesty, integrity, and accountability.
  • Objective 5.1b: Apply principles of medical ethics (e.g., autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice) when analyzing and making decisions in clinical cases.

Leadership Skills

  • Objective 5.2a: Apply effective leadership strategies, including clear communication, delegation, and conflict resolution.
  • Objective 5.2b: Demonstrate emotional intelligence by recognizing and regulating one's emotional responses and analyzing how these responses affect decision-making and professional interactions.

Wellbeing and Resilience

  • Objective 5.3a: Identify and describe factors (e.g., workload, stress, systemic issues) that impact colleague's wellbeing and professional performance.
  • Objective 5.3b: Recognize the impact of personal and system factors on professional wellbeing and describe strategies to maintain wellness within the learning and clinical environment.
  • Objective 5.3c: Demonstrate behaviors that promote team wellbeing, such as offering support, respecting boundaries, and engaging in constructive problem-solving.

 

6. Lifelong Learning and Scholarship (Practice-Based Learning)

Self-Reflection and Lifelong Learning

  • Objective 6.1a: Identify personal learning needs by recognizing strengths, deficiencies, and limitations in one's knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
  • Objective 6.1b: Incorporate formative feedback into personal practice by identifying areas for improvement and demonstrating measurable changes in professional behavior.
  • Objective 6.1c: Articulate a personal physician mission statement that reflects commitment to medicine as a life of service.
  • Objective 6.1d: Develop, implement, and periodically revise a structured career and professional development plan that includes measurable short- and long-term goals to guide lifelong learning and professional growth.

Scientific Inquiry and Research Skills

  • Objective 6.2a: Design, execute, and present a scholarly project that adheres to ethical research principles, including study design, data analysis, and interpretation.
