About Dayton Children’s Hospital and Dayton, Ohio
Dayton Children’s main campus, located in the heart of Dayton, Ohio, is a 155+ bed (and growing), freestanding children’s hospital and the only children’s hospital serving the Greater Dayton area. It is the tertiary care center for 20 counties in Ohio and eastern Indiana. This, combined with the large number of subspecialists, gives our fellows a great opportunity to see both large volume in standard pathology as well as many lesser seen diagnoses. Dayton Children’s is also an integral part in the care of the many immigrant and refugee children that have been welcomed into the Dayton community over the last two decades. Shriners Hospital for Children - Ohio is located within Dayton Children’s Hospital’s main campus. Our hospital has well-established and nationally recognized patient safety and quality improvement programs that will be foundational to your scholarly work as a fellow. In 2017 we opened a new 8 story inpatient tower, followed shortly by an outpatient pavilion with primary care, a learning kitchen, foster care clinic, and many other services. Our South Campus houses the outpatient surgery center, specialty ambulatory services, urgent care, and emergency department. We recently broke ground on a new ambulatory center on the main campus.
