Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

Aspiring Fellowship Candidates,

Thank you for your interest in the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Wright State University! We pride ourselves in training physicians to become well-rounded intensivists through diverse clinical experiences, collaborative multi-specialty didactics, and a focus on academics and scholarship. Our program is two years in duration and is open to board eligible/board certified Internal Medicine and/or Emergency Medicine physicians. Our accreditation is currently pending approval by the ACGME.

Our clinical site, Miami Valley Hospital, is a tertiary care, level 1 trauma center in Dayton, Ohio with over 100 ICU beds. In our multiple ICUs, fellows will care for patients with a wide variety of medical, cardiac, surgical (across multiple subspecialties), neurologic, and obstetric conditions. Our teaching philosophy is rooted in graded autonomy to teach trainees the fundamental skills required for clinical expertise. We pride ourselves in delivering compassionate, collaborative, and individualized care that is rooted in best available evidence and guidelines. Our didactic curriculum is designed to intersect with our surgical critical care and neurocritical care trainees to allow collaborative learning with a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives. We empower and support our trainees in performing scholarly projects to ultimately improve the care of our sickest patients. Finally, we have a focus on early mentorship and professional development to help our fellows form and realize their career goals.

We strive for a culture of curiosity, inclusion, respect, and personal well-being. We value the perspectives of our learners and aim to foster an environment where they are challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow as clinicians, teachers, investigators, and leaders.

I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our clinical experiences, faculty, application process, and the city of Dayton. I appreciate your interest and look forward to introducing you to our program. Please reach out to me or any of the listed faculty with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
