Many pre-health professionals take at least one year off after their bachelor’s degree before applying to a health professional program. Here at Wright State, our Master of Public Health program offers flexible options and support for students looking to pursue further education.
Strengthen Your Medical Background
Your public health training will broaden your understanding of medicine and public health beyond clinical practice. An M.P.H. is a gold star degree; it is recognized for its comprehensive skill development, practical applications, and rigorous course work. This makes an M.P.H. an intelligent choice for a Gap-Year Degree. Your training as a community health leader and practice, real-world experience will benefit your future career in healthcare.
Build Research Skills
Public health research shapes medical practice. In our program, students have the opportunity to work on community-based projects to enhance their research and presentation skills. Investigate important health topics, present your findings, and change communities. Build proficiency in your scientific and analytical techniques alongside our award-winning faculty.
Gain Valuable Clinical Experience
Being within the Boonshoft School of Medicine, students have the opportunity to engage in public health oriented clinical experiences, to both satisfy their graduation requirements and enhance their pre-health application. This includes medical focused coursework as well as community site placement for real-world clinical experience.
