Why Choose the Public Health Program?

A Public Health Professional focuses on the health and welfare of entire populations at risk of disease and injury. They not only assess and monitor the health of the population, but also educate communities on how to live more healthy lives, increase access to adequate health care, and develop public health policies that address local and national health care issues. Public Health careers bring attention to health concerns through education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and research. Public health professionals try to prevent problems from happening or re-occurring by implementing educational programs, developing policies, administering services, regulating health systems and some health professions, and conducting research.
