Office of Educational Affairs

Boonshoft School of Medicine students in class

The Office of Educational Affairs was established by Dean Valerie Weber in 2021 to ensure the continued excellence of the Boonshoft School of Medicine in training exceptionally competent, caring, and culturally humble physicians who will care for Ohio communities and beyond. The Office of Educational Affairs works collaboratively with the leaders of the Undergraduate Medical Education program (UME), Departments of Medical Education, Admissions and Student Affairs, and other stakeholders to ensure the ongoing creation and maintenance of a supportive, inclusive, and affirming learning environment for all of our learners, staff, and faculty. This office maintains a student-centered approach to ensure all students of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine thrive. The Office of Educational Affairs oversees the recruitment and retention of students, UME planning, curriculum implementation, maintenance of accreditation, and ongoing quality improvement and student outcomes’ assessment. The well-being and outstanding success of all of our students are primary goals of this office.
